A healthy and smiling Rihanna was out and about this week end, in Manhattan’s West Village. Over a month after Chris Brown allegedly attacked her, she looks healthy, happy and vibrant. Although the case is still pending, the couple is apparently back together.
Singer Chris Brown was charged in an Los Angeles court on March 5th for assaulting and making threats to girlfriend/pop singer Rihanna.
The disturbing events took place in an upscale neighborhood of Los Angeles last February 9th. Since then, the couple reportedly reconciled but Brown still has to face the music.
He hasn’t entered a plea yet but he is now facing a maximum of 4 years and 8 months in jail.
Hannah Montana’s lead Miley Cyrus was seen with a different set of bottom teeth at the Oscars last Sunday. Between the Golden Globes in January (left) and last week’s Movie Academy Awards (right), she apparently gotr her teeth fixed. And her dentist did a pretty good job too.
After winning “best actress Golden Globe” and being nominated 6 times for “best actress” at the Movie Academy Awards, Kate Winslet finally won her Oscar.
A teary Kate gave a cute acceptance speech, visibly very happy about her achievement.
The actress was up against Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Angelina Jolie and Melissa Leo.
After over a week of silence, pop artist Chris Brown issued a statement concerning the events that led to him being arrested and charged for allegedly attacking Rihanna, his girlfriend:
“Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God’s help, to emerging a better person. Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writings under my name are frauds.”
Brown is scheduled to appear in court next March 5th.
First Lady Michelle Obama is on Vogue magazine’s March issue cover, second first lady to ever make it there. It probably would have made it more à-propos to put her on the February cover, as it is Black History Month, but then again, March is fine too, as March 8th marks the International Women’s Day.
Chris Brown surrendered to the Los Angeles police Sunday evening after a warrant had been issued for his arrest . He was charged with criminal threats, which is a felony in the United States, and additional charges of assault and battery could be added to his case during the next few days.
The victim has yet to be publicly confirmed by the police but their report read “Robyn Fenty”, which is Rihanna’s birth name (born Robyn Rihanna Fenty). Apparently she was bruised and bloody at the time the 911 phone call was made, but she has been hiding from the public eye since the fight.
If convicted, Brown faces up to 9 years in jail.
It is the second time a Calvin Klein ad is banned from the United States. Five months ago, the one featuring Eva Mendes was also banned, because one of her nipples showed at some point in the ad (click here to see the ad).
I guess they haven’t learned their lesson yet.
A tape of a very, very angry Christian Bale has leaked to the press, and you can hear the guy dropping F-bombs like it was Iwo-Jima war.
Bale had a long, bad day, and apparently he was tired of shooting, when the director of photography just happened to walk right through the set while they were filming Terminator IV, and no assistant-director was wise enough to get up and pull him away.
