Joaquin Phoenix, who was celebrating his 34th birthday yesterday, decided to retire from his acting career to pursue his first love: music.
During an interview with Extra about his new movie Two Lovers, Phoenix declared: “I want to take this opportunity… also to give you the exclusive and just talk a little bit about the fact that this will be my last performance as an actor. I’m not doing films anymore.”
He didn’t give any more details about his passion or if he was preparing an album.
With all the money made with Gladiator and as Johnny Cash in Walk The Line, he probably can afford to take a break.
